Experience
For more than a decade now, I've had the privilege of teaching students from all walks of life. I received my degree in middle childhood education from Capital University, where I specialized in math and language arts. Shortly after completing my bachelor's program, I enrolled at the University of Phoenix and earned a master's degree in curriculum and instruction. My experience as an educator has given me the opportunity to teach in a variety of ways outside of the traditional classroom, including teaching online. While I've taught a number of different subjects, math and reading are my favorites to teach. Not only are these subjects my area of expertise, I also find them incredibly interesting. I believe that the best way to reach a student and help them achieve success is through a student-centered teaching style. Not everyone learns in the same way, so it's important to come up with creative activities that appeal to all types of students - not just the ones who enjoy listening to classroom lectures. As a teacher, I believe it's also important to help students build their self-esteem and learn how to think critically, so that they're more likely to succeed outside of the classroom. When I'm not teaching, I like to spend my time reading, doing yoga, and being outdoors.
