Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree at Drexel University, and I am currently attending Ohio State University and pursuing my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. My goal is not to become an engineer, but instead to become an engineering professor. While pursuing my bachelor's degree, I worked as a peer coach for new freshman engineering students, and I often helped them master their Calculus courses in small groups. This is when I realized that I was truly making a great decision to become a teacher, because seeing the looks on the students' faces when I helped them finally understand equations was priceless to me. When I tutor, I strive to be respectable, personable, persistent, and a good listener; the most effective teachers I have had showed all of these qualities. I also believe there are three traits that every great teacher has, and I developed my theory based on my best teachers during college. They consist of: passion for the subject they are teaching, the ability to relate problems being studied to real-life situations, and the ability to explain complicated problems in simple terms that can easily be visualized. In my free time, I enjoy building things, reading, running, and practicing jujitsu.
