Experience
I am a reading tutor certified in the Orton Gillingham approach of treating dyslexia. I completed the initial Orton Gillingham certification program through the IMSLEC/Chidlren's Dyslexia Center. The Orton Gillingham approach is widely used for individuals who have difficulties with reading, writing, and spelling. The approach is multi-sensory, structured and sequenced, explicit, cumulative, diagnostic, and prescriptive. Its multi-sensory approach engages the senses of sight, sound, and touch all within the same lesson. My training included 45 hours of classroom instruction and 100 hours of practicum. Previously, I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Master's degree in Teaching ESL K-12. I have five years of teaching experience.
