I am a biology and science tutor in Columbus, Ohio, and a graduate of a biology program at Saint Vincent College. I am interested in helping students who are struggling with biology, and plan to eventually become a professor of ecology and conservation.My teaching experience includes being a teaching assistant in general biology, wildlife biology, and human biology while in college. Additionally, I was also a collaborative learning facilitator for cellular biology. This position involved lecturing, preparing worksheets, and regularly engaging with students.My teaching philosophy is that every student has the potential to be successful academically if they are provided the right opportunities. Students may become overwhelmed by complicated subjects. As a tutor, my role is to guide students through the subject while helping them form the necessary connections between biological concepts and the "real world."I work as a regional assistant in the Heart of Africa at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. I walk ponies and camels, and clean stalls and exhibits. Working at the zoo allows me to teach other people about animals.My favorite subjects include conservation and wildlife biology. I also tutor students in a number of other science courses, including anatomy, biology, chemistry, biostatistics, earth science, environmental science, cell biology, evolutionary biology, genetics, and life sciences.I enjoy hiking, playing video games, reading, the outdoors, and animals.
