Experience

I am a recent PhD graduate from the Ohio State University with a focus in the art and archaeology of the ancient world and an earned Graduate Interdisciplinary Specialization in the Religions of the Ancient Mediterranean. During my time in graduate school I have taught art history recitation sections as well as full courses as an instructor of record. I will be taking up a Lectureship position at Ohio State University in the fall. I have worked to hone my classroom pedagogy through workshops in the Ohio State University Center for the Advancement of Teaching. I am also a trained field archaeologist, having worked at excavations in both Greece and Italy, most recently as a trench supervisor for the Apolline Project excavations at Pollena Trocchia, near Naples. I have presented my research at academic conferences across the country, including at the Council for European Studies International Conference of Europeanists in Washington, DC. In my time at Ohio State I have also dedicated myself to service, serving in the OSU graduate student government, as well as on numerous University committees, including the Athletic Council and the Council on Student Affairs. As I prepare to take up a Lectureship position at Ohio State this fall, I hope that I can continue to spread a love of the ancient world to even more students through private tutoring. I am an avid reader, with over 1000 volumes in my personal collection (you can imagine what a pain it is to move!). I also enjoy playing board games such as Settlers of Catan and building models and miniatures (ships in bottles are my current focus; I suppose I could tutor that as well!).
