Experience
I have worked with incoming English students to prepare them for their first year of university. Even though I have never tutored formally, I have worked with and edited many papers written by friends and peers. I have taken a wide range of courses from American and British literature (from multiple centuries), rhetoric and theory, as well as literature courses from a specific culture (LGBT and Women literature). I have been an officer in the Ohio University chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honors society, and I have worked directly with professors in the English department helping them format projects and collect research data. In addition to this, I am currently assisting a committee of English professors to refresh the department's image which will aid in recruitment.

Hobbies
I love school! I am considered to be quite nerdy because I actually enjoy reading and writing analytical papers. When I am particularly interested in a topic, I will read outside of what my professor(s) have assigned. In one specific instance, I sought a reading list from a professor and now I am working with her one-on-one and I am currently doing research and writing a paper that I plan on submitting to academic journals and conferences! Even though my area of interest is 19th-century British literature, I have taken many courses which have made me quite familiar with many types of literature. I also greatly enjoy creative writing.
