While an undergrad at U of Toledo, I worked for sixteen months tutoring writing at the University Writing Center. I help students with such writing projects as cover letters, essays on literature, essays for admission to grad school, laboratory reports, and essays for grant application. At present, I am working as a volunteer at Refugee Women in Action, working with refugee elementary school students to help them with math, reading, writing, and homework -- each of these students is also learning ESL. I was an Introduction to Linguistics teaching associate for a year at Ohio State working with undergraduates. I taught the class, created the syllabus, assigned essays and tests, graded, and gave lectures. I think the strongest attribute I bring to teaching is the way I can boost the confidence of my students while also pushing them forward. Students like me. They know I care and the environment I create for them is nurturing and supportive. I have the experience, skills, and knowledge necessary to help my students improve and excel in their lessons.I tutor the following subjects: ESL/ELL, Reading, Writing, Essay Editing, Phonics, Grammar and Mechanics, College Essays, IB Extended Essay, Public Speaking, and English.When I'm not tutoring I enjoy reading, writing, and building furniture.
