Joshua H.
Private tutor in Columbus, OH
Education
I have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. After completing my degree, I worked at American Electric Power for 3 years developing high voltage control and measurement systems for the power grid. I'm currently in a transition to go to OSU for a Master's in Nuclear Engineering. I have also passed the EIT/FE exam, the first step to be a licensed professional engineer in the state of Ohio.
Experience
During undergrad, I worked for a couple years as a tutor for the academic resources department at the university. All tutors were required to receive training for the CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certification. During the same time, I worked as a faculty assistant for professors to design assignments and help during lab experiments.

Hobbies
For hobbies, I'm also a musician and sound/audio engineer. Because of this, I always take a creative approach to solving problems by using resources at my disposal. I also study subatomic particle physics on the side, and have a genuine interest in math and technical subjects. Thus, I'm presenting these subjects to others. Being a good teacher/tutor is more than having knowledge: it's also being able to communicate that information, and to be genuinely interested in the subjects.
