Experience
As a tutor I am sensitive and empathetic to the personalities of my students. This, in turn, encourages open communication and enhances the entire learning experience. I started tutoring when I was in middle school, so I learned this technique from many years of experience. I gain a sense of personal satisfaction by witnessing students overcome difficult subjects and gain confidence as learners. I don't have one particular specialty. Some of the topics that I've tutored students in include Science, Math, Latin, Statistics, SAT prep, ACT prep, English, Writing, and Computer Programming. I don't limit my teaching to those subjects though. If there is a topic that someone needs help learning, then I will teach it to them. My joy comes from the moments when students gain a true understanding of a subject that was once perplexing to them.I wrote computer programs for the Clinical Neuroscience Lab at Ohio State University, where I graduated with a degree in Psychology. During my leisure time, I like watching documentaries, strumming the guitar, playing pool, and reading. I will read anything and everything that comes to my mind, from economics, history, science, and philosophy - you name it, and I'll read it.
