Experience
From an early age I have always been very dedicated to writing and English. During middle school, I took many creative writing classes at the Thurber House. In high school, I was part of a program called Mosaic. This program was designed for students who want to think outside of the box and get out of the regular classroom setting. We did projects ranging from perspective, to creative writing, to world religions and history. To be apart of this community I had to apply, get interviewed, and show that I was passionate about learning, culture, and English. During this time I interned for the Greater Columbus Arts Council, which is also known as the GCAC. The GCAC is an organization that promotes the advancement of arts and artists in Columbus. While interning, I was required to interview many artists who had received grants, document their interviews, and collect demographic data. This required a lot of one on one communication skills, as well as an abundant amount of documenting and writing. In addition, I took an English Literature class my first year of college where we had to read/analyze/interpret a collection of essays and novels. I also had to take an art history course where we were required to write a collection of reports and essays using scholarly articles and databases. I completed my first year of college with a 3.75 GPA. Currently, I am taking three studio classes at Columbus College of Art and Design as well as two liberal arts courses. These liberal arts courses consist of Psychology and Philosophy, where we are also required to write a collection of reports and essays. I am extremely passionate about learning, and I hope to spread my knowledge/awareness with the world around me. I find it fascinating how many things you can learn about yourself just from your own community. Though I have never actually been a professional tutor before, I do have patience and respect for people of all walks of life.
