I have four years of tutoring experience, and during that time I have worked with everyone from kindergarten students to high school students. I enjoy helping students reach their full potential academically. I've had the opportunity to help high school students as a member of AmeriCorps, assist elementary school students in a charter school, and serve as a program director with the Boys and Girls Club. I believe strong communication is vital in tutoring sessions, because it allows me to figure out the student's strengths and interests. I can then build on the strengths and relate concepts to things students are interested in to help them understand concepts better. I can tutor elementary school math, middle school math, algebra, pre-algebra, essay writing and editing, literature reading, English grammar, test preparation for the ACT, and more. In my spare time, I like to read, cook, and go on walks. I also enjoy poetry.
