EducationI graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in May of 2013. I graduated with a GPA of 4.00 in my major. I worked for the university as a laboratory manager of cognitive neuroscience research for the past 2.5 years. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Organizational Behavior at the Ohio State University in Columbus.
ExperienceI also edit and revise papers, resumes, CV, etc online (via email), and conduct practice Skype interviews for jobs, graduate programs, etc.
I have tutored primary school aged children while in college, focusing on math and English. I received a score of 5 on the AP Calculus exam and a score of 5 on the AP Psychology Exam. I took statistics as a sophomore in college, receiving 100% in the class. I took the GRE recently and my scores were 165 on the verbal section and 162 on the quantitative section. I took the ACT exam in 2009 and my scores were: 32(overall), 34(Math),36(English).
I am very interested in the overlap of psychology and business, as well as behavioral and cognitive neuroscience. I love teaching English and writing skills. I have many international friends, and frequently review and edit their papers, as well as practice English with them. I love helping people learn and will go out of my way to help students the best I can.
The most important aspects of tutoring for me are to be there completely for my students and to help them reach their potential. My tutoring style and schedule is tailored to each student's needs and my focus is on student understanding and improvement. I believe that in order for students to learn and study efficiently, they need to be surrounded by a positive and encouraging environment that also motivates them. My aim in working with students is to empower them so they become confident in the topic by increasing proficiency.
A little about me: I am passionate about writing, research, volunteering, and baking. I am a PhD student in the Management and Human Resources Department at the Ohio State University. I am pretty flexible with time and I have a car so I can drive to any location around Columbus. I understand that it is important to have a good fit between tutor and student, so feel free to suggest a first meeting where we get to know each other and talk about your specific needs in terms of tutoring.
Please feel free to email with any questions. Thanks for your interest!
